My friend Kristin was a pioneer in the blog world when she launched “French Word A Day” back in 2002. She was an American married to a French man who also happened to be a wine maker, living in the south of France with their two children. As she grappled with the language, she started her blog out a desire to share her struggle with French words and give a glimpse of her life in a foreign country. She went on to turn her blog into a book, published by Simon And Shuster and has since self-published a second book.
Her blog has a large following, and mostly she has dealt with positive comments I assume. But it really got me to thinking when she posted yesterday asking her readers if she should post 2 x a week or just once weekly and someone replied she should quit writing her blog.
There are people out there who are going to say and do things that make you question if you should even be in business. That doesn’t make them right. Their statements may even get you riled up. Haters gonna hate. Ignore them. Follow your dream.
And her FRENCH WORD of the day? Ohhh!!! “faire bisquer”: to get somebody riled, to wind them up.
