Open The Door
I have talked about this before, but I think it bears repeating, even if in a different format. My husband used to say luck and a good audition (packaging) may get you the job, (talking about actors), but talent is what will keep you working. We may buy a book because of the cover, (packaging) but read it because the content is what makes it worthy of our purchase. We desire certain foods because of the way it looks (packaging), but if we crave it and buy it again or even have a wonderful experience, it will be because it tastes good.
Packaging will get you in the door (incite your customer’s interest,) and is incredibly important, but if you don’t have anything beyond the package, you are doomed.
Here is a product I bought today solely because of the packaging. If I like it, I will buy it again, even if it is more expensive because I love the packaging.
