As a child I spent hours coloring, and not only did I love it, but I'm sure my mother loved having me quiet, preoccupied, and happy. Now experts are rediscovering the positive benefits of coloring and innovative artists and entrepreneurs are designing incredible new coloring books with snappy titles and bringing it to a whole new market, adults!!

According to an article I read in Tech Insider, coloring is a hot new trend among adults and they are purchasing in record numbers. Eight of the 20 top-selling books on Amazon are actually adult coloring books.

As I celebrated a birthday the other day, one of my very good friends gave me a set of uber cool pencils and a coloring book called "Colour Me Girl Crush" by Mel Elliott. A very cool book that not only has black and white pencil drawings of some super awesome women, but gives a little story about each one. I'm probably not going to win any art contests with my coloring, (as seen above), but It certainly helped me stay cool, calm and happy after my flight was delayed by two and a half hours today.

So next time you are feeling stressed, stuck or overwhelmed, try coloring. It's quick, it's easy, it's inexpensive, and it might just take you to a happy place!
