I have a new app I'm trying on meditation. It is an interesting process and I'm curious to see if I find the energy, peace of mind and exhilaration that others have insisted occur when you regularly meditate. On today's meditation, the lesson began with the idea that the more effort/energy you put into something, the more successful you are. I've always believed that but the meditation gave me a new viewpoint about effort/energy. It used the example that when you are trying to get to sleep, the more effort you spend trying to find "napper's house, " the less likely you are to slip into peaceful slumber. Apparently the same is true with regard to meditation. The more you "try" to clear your mind of thoughts and relax, the harder it is. The best way to do this is to take your foot off the gas, pause, catch your breath, and let go.
