#fbf As a kid, this was the special place that I went to when I visited my cousin or for family reunions and special occasions. It was magical and dreamy, with the coldest water 💦 in the 🌎 (at least I thought so) and a place of historical charm and natural beauty. I would spend hours dreaming of my future here and imagining I was visiting a foreign distant land. The imagination is a powerful thing. Use it! And dream big! My future did take me to distant lands and many of the dreams I dreamt have come true. And yours can too. Where was your special place and what did you dream?
This may look like a random collection of junk but they are actually treasures that will weave their way into my paintings, often hidden underneath layers of paint 🎨 and other mixed media but they add to the story and are a part of my creative process. My daughter’s loft has won many awards, but I think the extra bedroom secretly hidden behind closed doors is a major highlight and especially delightful! I’m honored to have one of my art pieces hang over the bed and bring an added element of serenity for a peaceful nights sleep 😴to her guests!
Paintbrushes 🖌 come in many shapes and sizes! I love making these brushes and using them to make marks on paper!

A few words to ponder on blue to tie yourself up with
Live fiercely! Choose adventure! Discover new things about yourself! And step out of your comfort zone! I like to think I’m fearless and in many respects I am, but this definitely pushed the outer edges of my comfort zone. But the funny thing is, the further we went up and sailed away through the clouds, the safer and more comfortable I became. I think there is a quote by FDR in his inaugural address that is along the lines of, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” and when we take that first step - we realize our capability is far greater than we realized. I felt that way about art when I first started, but now..., it is the thing that makes me the most happy and confident. What have you been afraid to try?
